Barbara Levac, a resident of the Washington DC area just finished having a solar power system installed on the roof of her house. The system is a 2.4kw system that will help to offset the cost of her electric bill. Barbara wanted to have a PV system installed because she is concerned with how we are treating our environment and wanted to do something herself that would benefit the environment. She believes that this is important because we only have one earth and if we destroy it we ourselves won’t be able to survive. Barbara decided to go solar after joining the Mount Pleasant Solar Coop whose goal is to help solve global climate change starting with the DC area. People in the Coop get together and do group purchases to lower the cost of the solar power systems. It was through the Mount Pleasant Solar Coop that Barbara found out about groSolar. Barbara chose to have groSolar install her system because a friend recommended them, and they offered the best price. With her new system Barbara is saving money while reducing her impact on the environment.
