City of Rutland, VT – September 4, 2013 – groSolar, celebrating 15 years in business, has announced it is leasing 1,000 square feet of office space in Rutland’s Opera House on Merchants Row.  The solar PV engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm has offices and facilities in White River Junction as well as in Maryland.  This sign of continued support for local Vermont business will create new jobs in construction project management and operations & maintenance to assist upcoming projects. 

"This new location is a direct link to Green Mountain Power’s Solar Capital effort; we wouldn't be here if not for GMP," said groSolar Executive VP for Business Development Steve Remen.  "GMP's leadership is making Rutland a focal point for solar development in the region, and we want to support that effort and be a meaningful part of it.  This expansion will help us do that."

Throughout Vermont, groSolar has completed commercial solar installations in open fields and on school, nonprofit, and manufacturing rooftops.  They have recently completed a 2.49 MW project along Route 7 in New Haven.  This past February groSolar designed and built a system at the Fletcher Allen Healthcare Milton Family Practice, which will supply 40% of that facility’s energy needs.  In addition, groSolar completed solar systems on the roof of Green Mountain Coffee and at the VT Air National Guard, a project which is visible from the Burlington International Airport tarmac.
