1973

Oil Crisis: OPEC nations stop oil exports to the US and other western nations. America, and Jeff Wolfe, are forced to consider the cost and supply of energy as never before.

1982

Dori & Jeff graduate from Cornell University in the class of 1982, each with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

1982-1998

The couple spent the early part of their careers consulting on the engineering of mechanical systems for large-scale, internationally recognized and award-winning buildings.

1998

The couple moves to Strafford, Vermont and Global Resource Options (GROsm) is founded in Jeff & Dori’s home. Their mission is to deliver renewable energy solutions to homeowners, businesses and dealers in an effort to fight global warming.

2001

By early 2001, GRO changed their business plan and were able to support 100% of the business through renewable energy sales. 

2002

GRO installs our first commercial solar electric system; a 52 kW solution at the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) headquarters in Albany, NY.  Approval for this system was granted shortly after 9/11,underscoring the value of energy independence and in alignment with GRO's goal of increased energy security.

2003

GRO opens first satellite sales office in Malta, NY.  GRO is recognized as the original NYSERDA-certified dealer.

2006

Jeff and Dori believe photovoltaics (PV) are among the greatest answers to challenges posed by climate change.  The groSolar brand is formally launched!

Our Bridgewater, Massachusetts sales and installation office opens.

groSolar installs a 121 kilowatt system at the Whole Foods in Cheshire, CT.

September, 2006

SJF Ventures invests in groSolar through Series A funding.

November, 2006

Durango, Colorado office opens, expanding our distribution reach.
