Tannery Road Landfill
groSolar is pleased to be engaged by the City of Rome, NY to develop, design and construct a 2.0 Megawatt (AC) solar project on the closed and capped Tannery Road Landfill. This, otherwise undevelopable land, is ideal for repurposing as a solar electric generating project. The project will bring 3,400,000 kilowatt hours of clean, renewable electricity to the residents of Rome in the project’s first year. This electricity will supply a portion of the City of Rome’s electrical load at a lower rate than traditionally produced electricity; meaning more affordable energy for the City of Rome and clean energy production for all of the area’s residents. The utilization of capped landfills for solar projects rely on groSolar’s specialized engineering and construction experience; these sites require unique design treatments and specialized construction management.
