groSolar says it is helping Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc. utilize solar-powered electricity for its U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and State of New Jersey approved pump and treat system to decontaminate groundwater at an ongoing environmental cleanup project it has been conducting in New Jersey.
According to Bill Geary, president of Clean Harbors Development LLC, the 1.5 MW solar project will be located on top of a capped landfill that was closed decades ago.
Clean Harbors is funding the project internally, but the solar system is receiving federal tax credits and New Jersey solar renewable energy credits, the companies say.
