groSolar Opens New Office in Pennsylvania |
Delaware County location expected to create 30 new jobs in solar industry
Broomall, PA (May 20, 2010) – National solar installer and distributor, groSolar, announced today that it will open a new sales and operations center in the Philadelphia metro area. A grand opening and open house of groSolar’s new location in Broomall will be held on June 8.
Growing demand for solar from homeowners and businesses in the mid-Atlantic states prompted the company to choose the Broomall location, from which it will serve customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. groSolar expects to add up to thirty new positions over the next eighteen months in the areas of installation, sales, marketing, engineering and project management.
“We are proud to bring new green jobs to the Pennsylvania economy, and to meet the needs of our customers in the mid-Atlantic region from our Broomall office,” said groSolar CEO Jeff Wolfe. “Whenever we open a new office we are getting one step closer to achieving our larger goal – to confront climate change by getting solar on as many roofs as possible, as fast as possible.”
“Pennsylvania has a solid solar rebate program and a strong SREC (Solar
Renewable Energy Credit) market, meaning it’s one of the most progressive solar states in the nation. We’re seeing tremendous interest in solar from local businesses and homeowners,” said Richard Deutschmann, groSolar’s VP of Policy & Market Development. “In looking for a new location in the mid-Atlantic region, the choice was easy. The Governor’s goal of growing a strong renewable energy economy in Pennsylvania means business expansion and green jobs will continue years into the future. This new location will allow us meet the regional demand for solar and we’re looking forward to expanding our team in Broomall.”
Pennsylvania’s solar rebate program offsets the initial investment of residential solar systems by thousands of dollars. Combined, the Pennsylvania state grant program and federal tax credit cover more than sixty percent of the initial investment of a typical residential solar installation.
"At groSolar, we know we are lucky to work in an industry where our mission matters,” said Wolfe. "Every time we install a new system, we not only empower a customer with energy independence - we also launch a sustainable system that has tremendous value to the planet, and the economy.”
That’s cause for a celebration. The ribbon cutting ceremony is will take place on June 8th, 2010 at 1:00 PM at groSolar’s new location at 800 Parkway Drive in Broomall.
The event is open to the public and will be attended by community leaders, legislators, and groSolar employees and customers. The event will also feature a demonstration of a solar system installation on a mock roof to show the simplicity of the most cutting-edge solar installation technology available. A light lunch will be served.
