groSolar is committed to operating sustainably internally and our outward missions. Examples of our ongoing work include:

  • From 1998 through 2012, groSolar has sold and installed more than 4,000 solar PV projects.
  • Office renovations and expansions include state-of-the-art efficiency measures including improved windows, added insulation, multi-level light switching, programmable thermostats, solar tubes, and eco-friendly carpeting to name a few.
  • In most offices, kitchens are stocked with non disposable flatware, cups, and plates, cloth hand towels are stocked and cleaned by employees, and glass milk bottles are used.
  • Recycled content paper is used and brown paper towels in the bathroom. All offices have a full recycle program for paper, cardboard, bottles, and plastics.
  • groSolar offers all employees renewable energy systems at 10% above cost.
  • groSolar encourages and incentives employees to volunteer time, such as during Vermont’s Green Up Day, where employees donate time picking up trash.
  • groSolar has donated solar electricity equipment to a variety of non profit organizations, and culminated a grant project which allowed (15) Habitat for Humanity homes in New York to receive solar electric systems.
