Former MA Energy Commissioner Joins groSolar to Lead Business Development

Columbia, MD (May 8, 2012) – This week groSolar announced the addition of Former Massachusetts Energy Commissioner, Steve Remen, who will serve as Executive Vice President of Business Development for the company’s commercial business segment. Remen brings deep energy sector experience as an engineer and project developer, completing projects with a broad range of corporate, financial, and government partners.

“After an extensive search, we’re excited to have Steve on board. He will be an excellent addition to groSolar’s long history in solar and experience in building robust, commercial solar PV projects in a variety of settings,” said groSolar CEO, Jamie Resor. “Steve will be based in groSolar’s Maryland office, but leading the national commercial solar sales and marketing team which is primarily in the Mid-Atlantic and New England states.”

In addition to serving as the Massachusetts Commissioner of Energy, Remen started and grew two successful sales and marketing teams which generated revenues in excess of $300 million annually. He’s also highly experienced in project development, having developed several power generation facilities totaling more than $250 million in value. Remen has an MBA from Boston University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
