Susan Moss from Whitman, Massachusetts just recently had the company groSolar install a 4.5kw photovoltaic system on the roof of her house. With her system Susan will be able to significantly lower her electric bill and maybe when the sun is shining brightly completely eliminate her bill all together. Susan wanted to put in a solar power system because her electric bill stated and continued to rise. She did not want to pay for expensive electricity any longer and knew that solar power was a feasible option for her. Susan made her system even more affordable by financing her PV system by using the organization SunRun. With the SunRun program the homeowner just pays for the power their solar electric system generates on a monthly basis, effectively switching their power company to the sun. The plus side to this program is that the rate that Susan pays is less than that normal utility bill, and the rate will never go up because it is a fixed rate. SunRun is a great way to finance a PV system; Massachusetts also offers a number of different options that can be used to finance a solar power system, like incentives, tax credits, and rebates.
