Gaelan Brown Named groSolar's New VP of Marketing |
Marketing Veteran to Accelerate groSolar’s National Marketing Push White River Jct., Vt. (June 1, 2009) – Solar energy leader groSolar announced today the appointment of Gaelan Brown as vice president of marketing. Brown, 33, a former senior marketing manager for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, will oversee a fast-growing marketing operation for the company. Brown, of Fayston, Vt., developed new direct-marketing and retail channels for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and annual revenue increased by over $300 million during his four year tenure. As co-founder and VP of Sales & Marketing for Infopia.com, Brown spearheaded a patented web-marketing platform in partnership with online giants, eBay, Yahoo, Amazon, Ubid, Overstock and others. Brown’s breadth of experience shows he is not merely comfortable with the 24-hour, broadband-enabled, Web 2.0 world, he thrives on it. “His professional resume was sparkling,” says groSolar CEO Jeff Wolfe. “A lot of really great resumes cross my desk, and besides his impressive experience – Gaelan’s extracurriculars were a perfect fit. Solar isn’t just a job, it’s a commitment, and to be on our team you really need to be a believer.” When not launching successful marketing campaigns, Brown writes about alternative energy and environmental issues for two websites, www.carbonshredders.org and www.vtcommons.org. Brown also co-founded the Carbon Shredders site as a “beta test” for the Do Your Part program developed by ICF International. The program shows by example that many people making small changes around efficiency leads to enormous C02 and financial savings. “Some people complain about bringing their work home with them,” said Brown. “I’m looking forward to bringing more of myself into work. It’s an honor to be working for such a prolific and forward-thinking company like groSolar where my personal values and professional interests are fully aligned. I am excited to be charged with educating the public that solar is not only affordable, but a solid long term investment in a world with very few ‘sure bets’.” Brown’s vision for the company is to cultivate a marketplace of ideas in which solar power systems are as common as programmable thermostats and wireless local-area-networks. “By providing people with a pathway to become part of the solution,” he said, “groSolar will continue to show, one solar-powered-watt at a time, that solar power is indeed what the world needs, NOW.” # # # About groSolar |
